Signs Of Sweet Relief!

Estudio 35
Antigua, Guatemala

Alright, I'll level with you. This isn't really a piece. It's two pieces. And it really shouldn't be considered art either. But I think you can agree with me that it is, in fact...awesome.

Just in case you're interested, the air is wet and hot in Antigua during the month of June, both of which I love. However, this would often lead to various impromptu quick sprints for cover during an unexpected downpour. Lucky for Antigua, there is always an easily accessible restaurant, cafe or bar to duck into during such an occasion. Lucky for me, I ducked into this place.

I sit at the bar and browse the menu for a while. I order a whiskey ginger. I smoke a cigarette. I order 2 pizzas. I have shots with some fellow visitors from Boston. We take some shots. The pizza gets there. We order another round. We eat all the pizza. We order more.

Now, I'm sure you can guess where the course of this is heading. The good ol' "break the seal?" conundrum rears its ugly head. The outcome, as always...is a quick and careful stagger to the restroom. I stood outside two doors, staring them down. Was I mistaken? Is it down the hall somewhere? Am I shitfaced?

After what seemed like an hour of contemplating sobriety and my sanity, I laughed out loud as a sense of eureka came over me. It's so simple, and comes across so clear. So clear, that it strikes us as unclear. In my opinion, it seems a little more practical than delineating the sex of two identical stick figures by slapping a skirt on one. Stupid. Let's spread it.
